Mount Hood & Hood River

Hood River lies along the Columbia River Gorge, in the shadows of Mount Hood and is a perfect jumping off point for recreation around the area. Standing at 11,249 ft Mount Hood is a prominent feature of the landscape surrounding Portland and the Mount Hood National Forest. The peak, a potentially active stratovolcano, is home to 12 glaciers, and neighbors several dormant volcanoes such as Mount Adams and Mount Saint Helens. The surrounding forests are beautiful norwest woods, full of ferns, moss, and perfect dirt for mountain biking.
