    Day number 1
We’ll meet at the hotel at 1:00pm to get checked in. You’ll have a little time to unpack and gear up before meeting up with our guides to hit the trail. Our ride today will be right from our accommodations, as we head up the road into Pisgah National Forest for a little “sampler” of what’s to come. Don’t worry, we’ll take it easy on you today to make sure you’re still pedaling on Day 4! Expect a 10-12 mile loop including classics like Sycamore Cove and potentially Daniel Ridge, before riding back into town for a post-ride beer and catered dinner.
  • 2
    Day number 2
Today’s ride is going to be BIG, so make sure you put in the miles leading up to your trip. We’ll head about 15 minutes south of town to hit Dupont State Forest, which has more flow than you’ll find just about anywhere else. Our ride today will include some of the classics in Dupont like Ridgeline, Airstrip, and Rocky Ridge, and we’ll combine everything for a solid 20-25 mile ride including about 3000 feet of climbing.
  • 3
    Day number 3
Today’s ride will try to push you beyond your limits, but we promise you’ll thank us afterwards. We hope you brought your technical skills with you, because the best of Pisgah will push you beyond what you thought possible. We’re not kidding. Today’s ride will include a quick shuttle up one of the many National Forest service roads to knock off some climbing, but don’t be fooled - we’ll still put in some big vertical. Today we’ll combine the tough trails like Bennett Gap, Avery Creek, and Black Mountain - super technical, rooty and rocky trails. Expect about 20 miles with a solid 2500-3000 feet of climbing. After a full day of riding in Pisgah, that post-ride beer will be well-deserved!
  • 4
    Day number 4
This morning we’re heading back to Dupont, but this time to sample some of the east coast slickrock on trails like Cedar Rock, Burnt Mountain, and Big Rock. To us, this is the perfect way to finish off a Brevard trip. We’ll check out some different terrain including some slickrock and we’ll get some awesome views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Typically you’ll see a good 12-15 mile ride on our last day here. After that, we’ll head back to our lodging to get everyone checked out. The trip (sadly) will end by lunchtime on the last day, in order to accommodate everyone that has to drive home or catch a flight.

High-end demo bikes are included in your trip package. If you prefer to bring your own bike, we can offer a $150 discount off your trip -- please make sure it's in tip-top shape before you arrive. In Brevard, the summers are warm and humid and the winters are very cold, in early November there is usually a milder mix of the two. We recommend bringing clothing on the warmer side with the ability to layer. With long climbs and quick descents keeping layers handy is crucial!

FAQ
FAQ
  • What kind of rider should I be for this trip?
Technical ability: This trip is for those who have been riding consistently for three+ years and consider themselves technically 'advanced’ - in other words, comfortable and confident on mildly technical terrain. We won't be focusing on the hardest trails but instead the best trails. The beauty of the trip is that you will get to ride with born and bred locals and most days you have the option to add on some trails. Fitness level: The days are all a little bit different, our shortest day is about 10 miles with a 1,800-foot climb while our longest day is closer to 20 miles and about 3,000 feet of climbing. You should be able to ride four-six hours per day for four consecutive days.
  • Is there a maximum number of guests on each trip?
Yes, Chasing Epic limits all of our trips to 12 customers. If a trip has reached the maximum number of bookings, then Chasing Epic will begin taking wait-list customers in case they have a cancellation.
  • What is the cutoff for booking a trip?
Chasing Epic will stop taking payment 2-4 weeks from the scheduled start of the trip, depending on the location. This allows them to finalize arrangements with the hotel reservations, dinner plans, required guides and shuttles (if applicable).
  • Is there a minimum age required for Chasing Epic Trips?
For liability reasons, if you’re traveling alone we require our customers to be 18 years old. If you’re coming on a trip with your parent or legal guardian, then you have to be 15 years old.
  • What kind of accommodations will be included?
We understand the need for clean, comfortable lodging after a long ride and we love the idea of community. Therefore, a majority of the time we’ll be staying in very nice condos or townhomes, with one designated as the central gathering place for meals, hanging out, and apres-activities. In some locations that’s not possible, so we’ll stay in spacious hotel rooms and will have a large community space for meals and post-ride debauchery.
  • Which meals are included? What if I have dietary restrictions?
All breakfasts and dinners are included in your trip: from dinner on the first night to breakfast on the last day. We will either go out to dinner/breakfast as a group, or we will have the meal catered at the house or condo. Alcohol is not included other than a post-ride beer, you’re responsible for your own alcohol/liquor tab at all restaurants. For our full day rides (typically days 2 & 3), we recommend packing in the calories with the energy bars, gels, and mixes. Please plan ahead if you want something other than a basic sandwich or wrap. For anyone with dietary restrictions, simply let us know prior to the trip and we will cater to your request. There is an opportunity to mention it when you book your trip as well.
  • Will I get my own room?
All trips are booked as double-occupancy, so expect to share a spacious room with another rider (same gender matching only). We do have single supplements available for $350/pp for this trip. Please check availability with evo & Chasing Epic.
  • I need a hotel the night before my trip, do you have recommendations?
Yes we do. We’ll typically suggest you stay in the same hotel for the extra night (or two), but we can also recommend lodging in other areas if you want to explore before or after your trip. We can even help hook you up with local guides and/or rides in those areas.
  • I saw that demo bikes are included through Chasing Epic. What kind of bikes are available and are they guaranteed for each guest?
Yes, we have high-end demo bikes included with each one of our booked Chasing Epic trips. And not just any demo bikes: we carry some of the most fun, cutting-edge bikes on the market today. You can check out the kick-ass Ibis bikes on our demo page, found here. We have both 29″ and 27.5″ bikes along with mid-travel and long-travel; basically something to suit any type of rider, for any type of riding. All of our bikes have carbon frames and very high-level build groups. As you know, it’s hard to carry the exact quantity of sizes and models to fit every customer on every trip, so there will be limited availability accordingly. To guarantee you get the bike you want, be sure to book early and correspond with us immediately to reserve your bike.
  • I want to bring my own bike. Will I get a discount?
We understand that some of our customers want to ride their own bikes instead of our incredible demos. Not a problem! For customers not utilizing our demo fleet, we offer a small discount on the price of your trip: $150 off our 4-day trip price. To take advantage of this discount, please note at time of booking and Customer Care will add the discount to your order.
  • When and how do I meet up with the group?
Chasing Epic will send out an itinerary about a week prior to your arrival with more information on where and when to meet as a group on Day One. For our 4-day trips, we like to leave plenty of time for a good first-day ride, so plan on meeting around 1:00pm. If you need hotel recommendations for the night before, you can email Chasing Epic directly. For departure plans, expect to be finished with the trip by 2:00pm on the last day. We’ll still hammer out a good ride that day, so you’ll be tired!
  • What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations will be subject to a cancellation fee (see policy below). For this reason, we recommend you purchase travelers insurance, which will cover the cost of your trip in extenuating circumstances. We recommend World Nomads. All cancellations must be submitted to evo in writing, are effective as of the date we receive them according to our internal records, and will be subject to a cancellation fee as follows. evo defers to Chasing Epic's cancellation policy, which is as follows: 80% refund 60+ days in advance; 50% refund 30-60 days in advance; 25% refund 15-29 days in advance; 0% refund 14 days or less
  • Are guide gratuities included in the price?
Tipping is not included in the price of your Chasing Epic trip. If you have a great time, feel free to tip the guides for their efforts. There is no pressure to tip, however; we’ll leave it up to you to decide on an appropriate amount. We will collect tips on the last night of the trip (as a group) and will present it to them on the last day.
  • Do I need travel insurance?
While it is not required, we always recommend purchasing travel insurance for all trips. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, theft and/or accidental damage while traveling. We recommend World Nomads.
