Trip Planning

Trip Planning

June temps in Salt Lake typically see highs in the low 80s, and lows in the low 60s. Please plan on bringing breathable clothing and sun protection. Nights and higher elevation trails/locations are often a bit more chilly so be sure to bring your layers. Bring your mountain bike in tip-top shape, or demo a brand new bike from the evo Rentals at Campus SLC.

Since a large portion of the trip will be focused on photography be sure to bring everything you need to shoot and ride with your camera. We recommend bringing a camera specific backpack. In addition to your camera and lenses, we ask that you bring a laptop with photo editing software and any memory cards and hard drives you may need for editing and storing photos.

  • Who are the athletes that will be joining the trip? (Alex Pavon)
Based in Flagstaff, Arizona, Alex has been riding and racing since 2013. In addition to being a professional mountain biker, she’s a skier, an EMT, a nursing student and the social media manager for Juliana Bicycles. Alex grew up ski racing but made the jump to mountain biking after a friend convinced her to enter a Big Mountain Enduro race. She was hooked immediately. Alex started racing professionally the next year as a Juliana Free Agent before eventually joining the Juliana/SRAM Pro Team. As an evo ambassador, Alex is a big supporter of Grow Cycling Foundation. She believes they’re helping to expand the cycling community in a meaningful and lasting way. Alex points to their work building a Velosolutions Pumptrack in Los Angeles as a prime example of how they’re making good things happen. In 2020, evo made a donation to Grow Cycling Foundation in Alex’s name.
  • Who are the athletes that will be joining the trip? (Hannah Bergemann)
For a while, Hannah Bergemann has been a dark horse in the bike world. She’s been quietly doing her own thing because she just wants to ride her bike. But a breakthrough year on the EWS circuit and at the Red Bull Formation event launched her into the public’s eye. In total, she won the Trans BC Enduro, placed second at the Finale Ligure EWS individual race in Italy, and was the first rider to link up all her features at Formation. Not satisfied, she grabbed her tools and climbed back up the former Rampage site and scratched in another line—just for the fun of it. To top it off, she joined Teton Gravity Research for a freeride trip in Northern India to explore untamed mountains in the shadow of the Himalayas. We have a feeling that she won’t be a dark horse for much longer...
