Itinerary
  • 1
    Day number 1
A OneSeed staff member will pick you up at Santiago’s international airport and take you to our partner bed and breakfast, located in the Providencia district just south of Santiago Metropolitan Park, which has several trails, a Japanese garden, and the National Zoo.
  • 2
    Day number 2
Wake up early for a pre-dawn flight to Chilean Patagonia. After a three and a half hour flight, meet your local trekking guide in Punta Arenas who will then accompany you to Torres del Paine National Park (4.5 hours public transport). On the way, soak up the beautiful views of the ocean surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
  • 3
    Day number 3
After breakfast, head to Torres del Paine National Park, by private transport, drop your full packs at the refugio
and begin the 12-mile trek. Start the trek with daypacks as you ascend through a rocky terrain cut by pristine glacial
rivers. Gain two thousand feet in elevation as you climb through a beautiful lenga forest until reaching the base
of the towers. Another shorter climb will put you meters from the towers and the emerald lake that sits at their
base. Return to the camp at Laguna Azul for the evening.
  • 4
    Day number 4
Travel approximately 30 mins by private transport to Las Torres, where you will begin your trek to Los Cuernos. Spend a majority of this part of the trek nestled on a trail between Lake Nordenskjold and Mount Almirante Nieto of the Paine Massif. Arrive at Los Cuernos camp, “The Horns,” nestled between the two famous horned peaks, Cerro Hoja and Cerro Máscara.
  • 5
    Day number 5
Head out from Los Cuernos and hike through Torres’ old-growth forest. Pass by the French Camp and arrive at the Italian Camp, which is the start of the French Valley. At the Italian Camp, drop your full backpacks and repack your food, water, and windbreaker into your daypack for the hike into the French Valley. If you’re feeling up to it, hike an additional 8 miles (12.8 km) round-trip into the French Valley for stunning 360 views of the park.
  • 6
    Day number 6
Hike to Grey Glacier, an impressive ice field that covers the west end of the park. Enjoy the beauty of Pehoé Lake and Grey Lake as you approach the glacier. In the afternoon, do an optional ice hike or kayak or relax on the porch of Refugio Grey.
  • 7
    Day number 7
On the final day of trekking, make your way along Grey Glacier toward Campamento Paso. Join an optional ice
hike or kayak with a local outfitter. (We suggest making reservations in advance of
your trip. OneSeed can not book spots on your behalf). Scale ladders and enjoy views of the glacier before
returning to the lodge for dinner.
  • 8
    Day number 8
Spend one final half day in the park. A 3-4 hour walk toward the lake will take you to the catamaran back to Pehoé and out of the park. Bus transportation will be awaiting your arrival to take the scenic ride back to Puerto Natales. Share a farewell dinner with your guide before a restful night in our partner lodge.
  • 9
    Day number 9
    Take a bus to Punta Arenas and fly back to Santiago. Bus and flight times will vary depending on the group;
The latest you would arrive back to Santiago is 10:30pm. Spend a final overnight in the city before your

Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978, Torres del Paine National Park is one of the most recognizable natural sites in the world. Located near the southern tip of South America in Chilean Patagonia, the national park is known for its towering granite spires, turquoise lakes, icebergs, and beautiful rivers. The Torres del Paine themselves are three distinctive granite peaks of the Paine mountain range or Paine Massif that are a jaw-dropping centerpiece for many hikes within the park boundaries.

  • None of the listed dates work for me, are more dates available?

  • Can I pay deposit now in order to book my spot instead of full payment?
Yes! You can book now with a $1,000 deposit and the remaining balance due 60 days prior to your trip. If you'd like to place deposit, please call evo Customer Care at 1.866.386.1590.
  • What if I'd prefer to book a private trip?
Any OneSeed trip can be offered as a private trip. Please let us know if you're interested, and we'll be able to confirm pricing.
  • What if I need to cancel or postpone my trip?
We are doing our best to offer increased flexibility during this time, and will refer to OneSeed Expeditions’ change and cancellation policy. Any traveler may reschedule their expedition, no questions asked, with a minimum of 45 days advance notice. Expeditions that include flights and other non-refundable elements are subject to the fees imposed by the partner airline in addition to any other nonrefundable costs not to exceed $300. Trip credit is valid for 12 months from the date of change and may be applied to any future posted expedition dates for the originally purchased expedition. You do not have to travel within those 12 months, only pick a date, subject to availability. As for cancellations, if you cancel 45 days or more prior to your scheduled departure, you will be reimbursed the full amount less $1,000.00 per traveler. Within 30 days of your scheduled expedition, your adventure is nonrefundable.
  • What are the accommodations like?
While you can expect to camp most nights during your expedition, some evenings may be spent at refugios (lodges) along the trail. We can’t guarantee a specific option as accommodation capacity is restricted by the national park for the 2021/2022 season. Before and after the trek we will stay at OneSeed’s partner bed and breakfast, located in the Providencia district in Santiago. Puerto Natales we will stay at OneSeed’s partner lodge.
  • Who will I room with?
If you are a solo traveler, OneSeed will try to pair you up with another solo traveler of the same gender, but if this is not possible, you'll need to pay a $300 single supplement to OneSeed Expeditions for your own room.
  • Can I have my own room?
Yes, the single supplement fee for this trip is $300, this will cover single rooms for the 2 nights in Santiago and the 1 night in Puerto Natales, all other accommodations will be shared. Please let OneSeed know that you would like to request single rooms.
  • What skill/experience level is required for this trip?
Level 4 out of 5: These expeditions require above average physical fitness. Treks may reach high altitudes and require high levels of physical exertion. No technical skills are required, and first-time trekkers are welcome. Typical days require 5-10 hours of trekking, and some expeditions include significant elevation changes.
  • How should I prepare for the trip?
While the elevation is not much of a factor on this trip, daily mileage can range from 6-13 miles and 5-10 trekking hours per day. This expedition requires above average physical fitness. No technical skills are required, and first-time trekkers are welcome. We always recommend that travelers break in their hiking boots before the expedition. Taking training hikes that mimic the mileage and amount of time you will be trekking in Patagonia is recommended.
  • Do you offer gear rentals?
No, there is no gear rental available on this trip.
  • When and how do I meet up with the group?
Day 1 of the itinerary is the arrival day. You can plan your arrival at any time on Day 1. You will be picked up and taken to the hotel in Santiago to meet up with the rest of your group.
  • What will the food be like? Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Food on the trail is rich in carbohydrates and protein since you'll be burning calories like a champ. Breakfast at the refugios may include eggs, fruit, cereal, lunch meat, cheese, toast, coffee, tea, and juice. Lunch is usually a sandwich made by your guide, fruit, snack bars, and some chocolate. Dinner may include meals like chicken with mashed potatoes, pasta, beef and rice, salad, soup, etc. While extra snacks are not included, you will have plenty of food during the trek. Travelers also have the option of purchasing snacks at the refugios, so having extra cash on hand is helpful. We do recommend any vegan travelers bring extra protein bars. OneSeed is able to accommodate most allergies and dietary preferences.
  • How much extra money should I plan on bringing?
You should budget for around $30 USD a day for drinks and any extra snacks. Optional expeditions like kayaking or a glacier walk range from around $90-$160 USD (please book prior to your departure). If you wish to participate in these activities please budget accordingly.
  • Should I purchase travel insurance?
We highly recommend purchasing additional trip cancellation insurance after booking your flights (we recommend World Nomads). Trip insurance may cover the following: trip cancellation due to an injury before your expedition, trip cancellation due to illness, reimbursement if your flight is canceled or delayed due to weather, lost baggage or theft, 24-hour customer support.
  • I see that 10% of my trip cost is invested locally, what does that mean?
At OneSeed they believe that adventure and entrepreneurial hustle go hand in hand. Whether you’re trekking through Patagonia or taking the next step towards financial independence, it’s an endeavor that takes dedication and risk. That’s why when you travel with OneSeed, 10% of your trip cost is invested in local entrepreneurs - empowering our fellow risk-takers to launch or expand their business. OneSeed partners with local microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the countries where they operate. They invest 10 percent of our total revenue in these partners, who in turn lend this seed capital to small-scale entrepreneurs as collateral-free, shared liability microcredit. Entrepreneurs repay the loan over the course of the loan term as they launch or expand their business.
  • What is the maximum number of guests per trip?
We operate trips from 1 person to a max of around 10 people.
  • Is there a minimum age required for this trip?

  • Is there a baggage limit on the domestic flight?
Yes, you are allowed 1 checked bag up to 50 lbs/23kg and 1 carry on up to 17.5 lbs/8 kg with size restrictions.
Testimonials
I traveled to Patagonia, Chile this past November and the accommodations, food, guides, and trek truly exceeded my expectations. The company took care of all the planning for transportation and stays so it was great to not have to worry over all the details.

OneSeed Patagonia Trek
Very organized tour! Our guides, Jorge & Mauricio, were excellent. They were experts not just on trekking, but on the whole area of Patagonia and Puerto Natales since they live and work there. They went out of their way to make each of us feel comfortable and were so helpful in every aspect.
