The CAPiTA Spring Break Powder Racer Splitboard takes one of the finest pow boards in the game and hucks it through the bandsaw for some uphill action. It's got all the classic surfboard-inspired features of Corey Smith's Spring Break shapes: a big ol' nose, a wide waist, and a squash-tail to float through the fluff, combined with Capita's new Surf Camber profile. The result is a split that floats effortlessly in powder but won't let you down on firmer ground. Rounded out with pre-cut Union Expedition Skins and clip hardware, this is a grab and go package designed to go the distance.

Ascend 2 Split Core™ – Premium weight-graded Poplar aligned with Paulownia and an ABS centerline resulting in a high-end split specific core. This core retains the primary poppiness of Poplar while remaining lightweight due to pressure-bonded dual-species wood core strips.
Laminates
Technora™ + Flax Boosters – With an excellent tensile strength and fatigue resistance, Technora™ is an aramid fiber that functions as a shock absorber and energy source when integrated into a snowboard construction layup. CAPiTA has interwoven Technora™ with an extremely lightweight and all-natural Flax fiber to invigorate every construction combination with maximum turning and ollie power.
Triax/Triax Holysheet™ – The HOLYSHEET™ fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Triaxial fiberglass is placed on both the top and bottom of the core providing maximum strength, durability and performance.
Magic Bean Resin – This advanced resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw material and is produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions. In production, it has a low-temperature requirement with a high yield output. Poppy, powerful, and extremely durable, MAGIC BEAN™ resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing a decrease in the wood core thickness. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.

Splitboarding A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.

Medium The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Spring Loaded Pin System – By combining the standard pin system with the Split System baseplate, Union increases the amount of connection between board and binding. Just one pin changes the mode and locks it into place.
No-Nonsense Touring Mode – For touring, the binding slides into the climbing cradle and is locked into place with the pin.
