By: Jen Streby: Camp Buyer | June 15, 2022

It’s easy to remember the big stuff when deciding what to pack for a camping trip. How often does someone forget something obvious, like the tent? But it’s the details that matter the most, the little things that you don’t realize you need until you’re far from civilization without them. These camping accessories make a huge difference in your comfort and happiness levels while camping, and are sorely missed if you forget them. That’s why we’ve put together this list of the best camping accessories. These are the little, less obvious things that we’ve come to appreciate.

New This Year:

From fire pokers to showers and first aid kits, this is a diverse list. But that should come as no surprise, after all, there are a lot of small tasks to accomplish on a camping trip, and it can be challenging to cover all of them. But don’t worry, with these accessories, you’ll be ready for anything mother nature throws at you. Just make sure not to forget something big and important, like your sleeping bag, while you pack all your new accessories.

Nemo Helio LX Pressure Shower

Nemo Helio LX Pressure Shower

The Nemo Helio LX Pressure Shower is your new favotire camping essential, in an extra lagre size. If you've tried gravity fed camp showers and gave up on the whole concept, this might be worth giving them a second look. The Helio LX comes with a 5.8 gallon tank (twice the size of the standerd Helio) that pressurizes with a foot pump. A release valve keeps the tank from over inflating, and all you have to do is give it the occasional pump to keep the pressure strong. The extra large reservoir means you can get up to 10 minutes of continuous water pressure. The hose can be held overhead for use as a shower, or you can get enough pressure to clean off muddy bikes, salty wetsuits, or filthy dogs and children. Leave it in the sun to slowly heat up, or put hot water right into the tank. Once you get used to camping with the Helio, you'll wonder how you ever did without it. The Helio makes it easy to keep you looking, smelling, and feeling your best on long camping trips.

Jen Streby

Hi! My name is Jen, and I grew up loving the outdoors, traveling to our family cabin every summer in Michigan where I got to spend time in lakes, rivers, and the woods. I grew apart from that as I traveled throughout the U.S. searching for what I call home until I moved to Utah in 2008 and became an avid backpacker and river rafter. From then on, it’s been a passion I seek out when the weather is a bit warmer here in the PNW.

I now call Washington home and have been here for 6 years. I started working for evo 2 days after my move up from Portland and have loved every minute of it. I’ve been a buyer for a couple of categories and then was tasked with bringing on our camp category several years ago. It’s been a wild ride and I’m stoked to be able to share my love for the outdoors with all our evo family.
