By: Jack Mace: Camp Buyer | June 21, 2023

If you’re planning on spending any extended amount of time in the backcountry, it’s worth including some sort of water filtration system on your camping checklist. Sure, you could just carry a bunch of water, but that’s heavy, and silly when there are streams and springs to drink out of. The key is filtering that natural water before you drink it. Who knows what sort of nasty organisms could be living in there! But not all camping water filter systems are created equal, and what style you need varies according to what you’re planning on doing. So we’ve put together this list of the best camping water filters to help you narrow it down.

New This Year:

Looking to filter a bunch of water quickly for a big group? We’ve got you covered! Looking for a lightweight option so that you can refill your bottle midway through a big run? We’ve got that too. The key is thinking through your filtration and capacity needs, and choosing the filter that best matches them. That’s why we’ve put all of the relevant specs for each filter in easy to read charts. We know, there’s a lot of information to digest here, but with a little research, you’ll be filtering your own water in no time!

Jack Mace

Hey there! My name is Jack Mace, and I am the camp buyer for evo. I grew up in Washington and spent most of my childhood summers on the water or in the mountains, which drove my passion for fun activities such as camping. I attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, which provides plenty of excellent camping locations, such as Larrabee State Park or Silver Lake. Then, I moved back to the Seattle area and worked as a sailing instructor for several years at my cousin’s rental shop on Lake Union before joining the evo family in 2012. At evo, I started on the customer service team and worked my way onto the merchandising team, which gave me the opportunity to integrate my passion and love for the outdoors into a career as the Camp Buyer. I still reside in the Seattle area with my wife, Katie, and two sons, Wes and Carter.
